Sample assessment
The feed was small pieces of nonwoven fabric. Fiber composition and initial dimensions were not supplied.
Analyst consideration: For nonwoven fabric, powder formation can change fiber length and morphology as well as sieve passage. The recorded internal temperature is useful context, but preservation of any intended fiber function needs separate assessment.
Recorded objective
Meet an 80-mesh requirement.
Equipment and selection
The machine entry is XQM. TENCAN Vertical Planetary Ball Mill is associated at the recorded series level. No exact housing variant is inferred from jar capacity or an abbreviated machine label. Air cooling is expressly recorded and its configured product reference is associated separately.
Test setup
| Jar entry | Agate jar |
|---|---|
| Media entry | Agate balls |
| Media-charge notation | Standard charge; individual specification not recorded |
| Sample-load entry | 4g |
| Controller speed setting | 300 |
| Cycle notation | 5/1 |
Unlabelled jar, media and load numbers remain source notation, not assigned units. Controller settings are not certified rpm. The cycle notation has no independently stated timing unit or reversing definition.
Recorded procedure and results
The source lists an agate jar and agate media with a 4 g charge and an air-cooling machine. At setting 300 and sixty minutes there was no change. After increasing to setting 500, the material was entirely powder at 120 minutes. The measured inside-jar temperature was 11 °C, and 100% passed the 80-mesh sieve.
Interpretation
The final all-passing sieve observation directly supports the stated requirement. The initial ineffective stage is preserved, and the 11 °C reading belongs to this jar and timepoint rather than a universal cooling guarantee. No fiber-length distribution was measured.
Practical precautions
Record cooling conditions, fabric identity and sieve standard in a repeat. Distinguish the controller setting from measured rotation speed and retain the one-hour comparison sample.
TENCAN alternatives to evaluate
TENCAN Omnidirectional Planetary Ball Mill. A compatible air-assisted omnidirectional comparison can evaluate nonwoven-fabric movement. Retain the 4 g feed, inside-jar temperature check and complete 80-mesh endpoint. An air-assisted QXQM comparison adds bed reorientation, allowing fiber circulation to be assessed while the cooling arrangement, inside-jar temperature check and complete sieve endpoint remain controlled. This is an untested comparison proposal, not a result of this trial.
Association follows the explicit XQM source entry; only recorded tested series/configurations are related. No jar-volume inference.
