TENCANPLANETARY BALL MILLS

Molybdenum–chromium alloy: observed refinement over a fifteen-hour planetary trial.

Molybdenum–chromium alloy: observed refinement over a fifteen-hour planetary trial. Observe the material response; no numerical particle-size target was entered.

Sample assessment

The sample was an alloy powder. Composition, starting distribution and any intended phase or morphology specification were not supplied.

Analyst consideration: For an alloy powder, finer appearance can reflect fragmentation, altered flakes or agglomerate breakup. The recorded 80 °C also makes preservation of the intended material state a consideration, although no temperature limit is known.

Recorded objective

Observe the material response; no numerical particle-size target was entered.

Equipment and selection

The machine entry is XQM. TENCAN Vertical Planetary Ball Mill is associated at the recorded series level. No exact housing variant is inferred from jar capacity or an abbreviated machine label.

Test setup

Jar entrySteel 4
Media entrySteel 2.5
Media-charge notation532 (unit not stated)
Sample-load entry110 (unit not stated)
Controller speed setting630
Cycle notation5/1

Unlabelled jar, media and load numbers remain source notation, not assigned units. Controller settings are not certified rpm. The cycle notation has no independently stated timing unit or reversing definition.

Recorded procedure and results

Steel was recorded for the jar and media. At three hours the material was still flake shaped. At fifteen hours it was described as finer, with a temperature of 80 °C recorded. The thermometer location, particle-size distribution and alloy phase analysis were not provided.

Interpretation

The favorable observation is the reported late-stage refinement. It does not demonstrate alloy formation, a particular final size or preserved material properties. The temperature reading is part of the process evidence and must accompany any comparison of the long run.

Practical precautions

Define the permitted sample temperature before repeating. Compare morphology and size at both timepoints and verify atmosphere requirements for the particular alloy composition.

TENCAN alternatives to evaluate

TENCAN Air-Cooled Planetary Ball Mill. An air-assisted configuration can be evaluated because the fifteen-hour alloy sample reached 80 °C. Measure the sample temperature and morphology rather than assuming a cooler working area guarantees cooler powder. Refrigerated air removes heat from the working area around the assembly; this addresses the recorded heating observation, while actual powder temperature still needs its own measurement. This is an untested comparison proposal, not a result of this trial.

Association follows the explicit XQM source entry; only recorded tested series/configurations are related. No jar-volume inference.
