Sample assessment
The feed was coarse incense material. Its formulation and starting distribution were not supplied.
Analyst consideration: Incense material may contain constituents that respond differently to milling, so a bulk D90 does not describe formulation uniformity or fragrance retention. Those attributes should be considered separately from the accepted fineness.
Recorded objective
Meet the recorded 80-mesh requirement.
Equipment and selection
The machine entry is XQM. TENCAN Vertical Planetary Ball Mill is associated at the recorded series level. No exact housing variant is inferred from jar capacity or an abbreviated machine label.
Test setup
| Jar entry | Zirconia jar |
|---|---|
| Media entry | Zirconia balls |
| Media-charge notation | Standard charge; individual specification not recorded |
| Sample-load entry | 15g |
| Controller speed setting | 350 |
| Cycle notation | 5/1 |
Unlabelled jar, media and load numbers remain source notation, not assigned units. Controller settings are not certified rpm. The cycle notation has no independently stated timing unit or reversing definition.
Recorded procedure and results
A zirconia jar and zirconia media were recorded with 15 g material. The sample was described favorably after thirty minutes at setting 350, after which the setting was increased to 500. The note also mentions sixty minutes but does not anchor the setting change to that time. At 120 minutes the sampled distribution had D90 = 55 µm, and the result field explicitly states that the requirement was met.
Interpretation
The positive result combines a recorded acceptance decision with a specific D90. The percentile does not demonstrate complete passage through an 80-mesh sieve, and no mesh-to-micrometre equivalence is assumed here. Fragrance and composition changes were not evaluated.
Practical precautions
Confirm the actual acceptance test and sieve standard. Keep the feed reference and inspect properties relevant to the incense formulation separately from particle size.
TENCAN alternatives to evaluate
TENCAN Benchtop Planetary Ball Mill. A compatible benchtop configuration can be assessed for the 15 g incense charge. Compare at 120 minutes using the same D90 method and independently confirmed mesh criterion. A benchtop comparison addresses compatible jar loading and handling of the recorded small charge, with the same two-hour distribution measurement used to avoid a nominal-capacity comparison. This is an untested comparison proposal, not a result of this trial.
Association follows the explicit XQM source entry; only recorded tested series/configurations are related. No jar-volume inference.
