TENCANPLANETARY BALL MILLS

Biochar and pyrite: a three-hour formulation trial.

Biochar and pyrite: Mix the materials for 3 hours and record the resulting particle distribution. Recorded setup, outcomes and evidence limits.

Sample assessment

Biochar and pyrite were processed as a two-component formulation. Composition uniformity requires evidence beyond a particle-size distribution. The laboratory test record documents this preparation only; applying the method to another batch requires a matched trial.

Recorded objective

Mix the materials for 3 hours and record the resulting particle distribution.

Equipment and selection

The recorded planetary machine is XQM. The corresponding TENCAN family is the Vertical Planetary Ball Mill. The jar volume identifies the test container and does not establish an exact machine variant or production capacity. Equipment association follows the recorded machine designation.

Test setup

Recorded planetary machineXQM
Documented setup500 mL stainless-steel jar; steel balls of 5, 8 and 10 mm with recorded mass ratio 5:3:2; biochar 11 g and pyrite 58.8 g; speed setting 550.
Recorded operating cycleRun 10 / pause 2; units not stated in mode field

Speed values are reproduced as recorded settings. A rotational unit and planetary-disc versus jar-speed basis are not stated, so these numbers are not labelled rpm.

Recorded procedure and results

The biochar and pyrite charge was milled for 3 hours. The endpoint sample measured D50 = 14.34 µm and D90 = 45.85 µm. No initial distribution or independent blend-uniformity measurement is recorded.

Interpretation

The useful result is a measured distribution after the specified processing period. The test record does not impose a particle-size limit. Neither the measured sizes nor elapsed processing time establish chemical reaction, activation or uniformity at every sampling position.

Practical precautions

Check steel contamination against the intended analysis. Preserve the component masses and ball-size mass ratio when preparing a repeat sample, and add a separate uniformity test if blending performance is the acceptance criterion.

TENCAN alternatives to evaluate

For follow-up comparison, consider the TENCAN Omnidirectional Planetary Ball Mill. For biochar and pyrite, a matched QXQM trial can test whether changing orientation affects the distribution of this biochar–pyrite formulation. Keep sample mass, media and sampling times controlled. This is a proposed comparison; the test record does not demonstrate a superior result for that alternative. Confirm jar compatibility and the permitted complete loaded mass before selecting a configuration.

Procedure records XQM; related product is the corresponding tested machine family. Exact variant is not inferred from jar size.
